The background

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 22 — Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham made a change at quarterback before the game, choosing Tommy Carr over Bryce Underwood. Carr had led the Wolverines to a win over Penn State the week before, and Saturday's game against Indiana was Carr's first career start.

Michigan's offense struggled in the loss, and the team did not score a touchdown. Some coverage says Whittingham faces questions after three losses in seven games under his leadership, and a donor and a former Michigan coach have been quoted in headlines calling for changes. Whittingham has said he remains confident in his approach. The sources give no information on any next steps for the coaching staff.
