Why is “Nikola Jokic” trending?

Jokić ranked among top NBA players in preseason lists

Nikola Jokić, the Denver Nuggets center, is drawing search interest as several sports outlets publish preseason rankings of NBA players. Yahoo Sports reported that oddsmakers were asked to rank the league's 74 most important players against the betting spread, and that Jokić and Victor Wembanyama sat at the top of that list. USA Today also published a piece ranking the best player on every NBA team, and NBA.com released a preview of the Denver Nuggets' upcoming 2026-27 season.

The searches appear tied to this run of season-preview coverage rather than a single game or event. The headlines do not give the full rankings or the methodology in detail, so the exact order below the top spots and the reasoning behind the oddsmakers' picks are not clear from the headlines alone.
